About Me
Trauma, Shoulder & Elbow Surgery Expertise
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Addenbrookes, Cambridge University Hospitals, managing complex, major polytrauma patients.
I specialise in shoulder and elbow surgery. Through my NHS practice I regularly treat multiply injured polytrauma patients, complex upper limb trauma, post-traumatic sequalae, bone infection and amputations.

Training
I undertook my surgical and orthopaedic training in the prestigious and highly competitive Oxford General Surgical and Orthopaedic training programmes.
I am triple fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow from internationally renowned centres of excellence: Cambridge, Oxford and Reading. I also trained for one year in New York at Hospital for Special Surgery. I studied medicine at Cambridge University and obtained my PhD in Orthopaedic Surgery at Oxford University, specialising in shoulder tendon healing and repair. My surgical and orthopaedic training was undertaken in Oxford.
Academic Expertise
I am a recognised academic expert in my field with a strong track record of publications and over £450,000 of research grants. I am the associate editor for the leading UK journal, Bone and Joint Journal 360. I am an expert advisor and reviewer for multiple journals including the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow, American Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Orthopaedic Research and Arthritis Care & Research.
National Orthopaedic Leader
I hold national senior roles in key orthopaedic governing bodies. I am a council member for the British Orthopaedic Association and a research committee member for the British Elbow and Shoulder Society.
